Privacy statement
Capital International Asset Management considers the privacy of its unitholders to be of fundamental importance and has established this policy to maintain the privacy of your information.
What information do we collect and what do we do with it?
We collect information necessary to serve you. We collect your name, contact information, social insurance number, and other information necessary to provide you with fund management services, to keep records, to help prevent error and fraud, or to respond to inquiries from your advisor, if you have one.
We do not sell any personal information. Portions of your personal information may be provided, in strict confidence, to firms that prepare and mail account transactions that you have requested or authorized, or other fund-related materials such as unitholder reports. Personal information may need to be disclosed to meet legal obligations such as tax reporting.
We occasionally disclose personal information to research companies that help us conduct unitholder surveys to assess and enhance our financial services. We require that these service providers protect your information and use it only for limited purposes.
Note that in each case where information is shared with third parties, they are not permitted to use the information for any purpose other than to assist our servicing of your account(s), or as permitted by law.
How do we collect information?
Personal information is collected from our interactions with you. We might interact with you directly, such as when you call or write us or visit www.capitalinternational.ca, or we might interact with you indirectly, such as through your advisor. No matter how your personal information is collected, we try to ensure its accuracy and completeness. In order to maintain the integrity of your information, please make sure we know about any changes as soon as possible.
How do we protect your personal information?
We have always considered the protection of sensitive information to be a foundation of customer trust and a sound business practise. Within Capital International Asset Management and among our service providers, access to your nonpublic personal information is restricted to authorized employees who need it to provide products and services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with government standards to guard your personal information.
What protection do you have online?
We use a variety of protections to maintain the security of your online session. For example, we make extensive use of firewall barriers and authentication procedures.
When you visit our websites, we may collect technical and navigational information, such as computer browser type, internet protocol address, pages visited, and average time spent on our websites. This information may be used, for example, to alert you to software compatibility issues, or it may be analyzed to improve our web design and functionality. We may also place cookies and similar files on your hard drive, to help you navigate our site easily and quickly.
What privacy rights do you have?
You may request access to your personal information and question its accuracy and completeness. We will respond to your request within 30 days of receiving it. You may withdraw all or part of your consent for us to use your personal information within certain legal restrictions.

This Trade-Matching Statement is being provided in accordance with National Instrument 24-101 - "Institutional Trade Matching and Settlement" and Companion Policy 24-101CP (the "National Instrument"). It applies to all trades that are subject to the National Instrument.
We confirm that we have established, maintain, and enforce policies and procedures designed to achieve matching in accordance with the National Instrument.
